i freakin' hate secrets

i mean do secrets actually benefit anyone?
well of course they do. its just that i'm sick of being in conversation with someone, and their tongue gets to loosened, followed by:

'ooops, you didn't hear that'

'carl. you can't tell anyone'

or my personal fav:

'that stays between you and me'

then you have extra information that you have to carry round your life, which slowly burns away at your vocal strings, seeking a release.
why can't people just keep stuff to themselves, or accept the fact that they shouldn't talk about such stuff. no offense to any Personnal, i'm speaking from personal experience and just get annoyed when other parties let one slip, and then i have to hop onboard the secret carrying brigade.

sometimes 'ignorance truly is bliss'

...and I will never never never never never write a song about secrets...

Perhaps secrets are like money or the internet? Not really that great for people, but seems to be necessary.

yeah, i hear ya nato,

i think there is something about knowing a secret, that gives you a sense of superiority?, or confidence? that everybody strives for?

crazy place we live in.

I wonder.... perhaps for some of those advanced in age - it is difficult to remember what's public knowledge, and what's not?

yeah true,

but if people didn't tell you in the first place, that wouldn't be an issue.

but yeah, its a fine line, cause speaking openly and truthfully with someone trusted forges closeness which is also needed.
i'm aiming more at the 'slippages of tongue' which occur all too regulary for my sake.

I guess its down to the old proverb 'when words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise'

My brain is set to go into standby mode whenever the phrase "you didn't hear that" is used. Makes for poor recollection when you stop archiving it :-)

from my very extensive bible studies (cough) it seems that telling the truth in the context of a relationship meant being loyal to the good guys
eg
when rahab hid the spies
